What are some good water shoes for kayaking?
I tried wearing some thin Vans in my kayak that I just got, but I couldn’t get my feet on the pedals. There was not enough room. I can put my feet in the proper position while barefoot, but I would like some sort of footwear. Can anyone recommend a good pair of water shoes that are thin, flexible, and affordable for kayaking. Oh, and not the Five Fingered ones, lol I don’t think those are my style, nor could I afford them.
Thank you for the responses!
These are some good answers guys. Much appreciated! Keep ‘em coming.
My kayak has movable pedals, and they are moved all the way forward.
The links are great as well.
Those that are going barefoot, you guys are awesome. I just want something so that if I have to bail, I’m not worrying about cutting up my feet.
Specific water shoes would be awesome.
Thanks!
I wear a pair of Teva sandals and put dry socks and tennis in a dry bag. but it sounds like you need aqua socks or surf shoes. Walmart had no-name water shoes that work great(for me) if you are not hiking also. And at $7 they won’t break the bank. Also neoprene socks work great in tight spaces but again will not hold up to hiking.
Does you kayaks seat or foot pegs move? It depends on the kayak but lots are adjustable.
